Chivle, Inc. ("Chivle," "we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our Platform. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described here.
2. Information We Collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information: name, email address, and account role (farm or buyer)
- Farm profile: farm name, address, phone number, description, and images
- Buyer profile: delivery address and phone number
- Messages: content of messages sent through our platform messaging system
- Certification documents: USDA NOP certificate numbers submitted for organic verification
Information collected automatically
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, clicks, and session duration
- Session-replay data: we use Microsoft Clarity to record how you interact with pages (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling, and navigation) to diagnose problems and improve usability. Text entered into form fields is masked by default and not captured.
- Device and browser information: IP address, browser type, operating system

Payment information
Payment processing is handled directly by Stripe, Inc. Chivle does not store your full payment card details. We receive transaction confirmations and limited payment metadata (such as last four digits and card type) from Stripe.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To facilitate transactions between buyers and farms
- To send transactional communications (order confirmations, account notices)
- To send marketing and promotional communications (you may opt out at any time)
- To verify farm legitimacy and process "Chivle Verified" applications
- To improve, personalize, and operate the Platform
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
4. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it in the following circumstances:
- Between buyers and farms: When you place an order, the farm receives your name, delivery address, and order details. Buyers receive the farm's name and contact information.
- Stripe: We share transaction data with Stripe, Inc. to process payments. Stripe's use of your information is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Service providers: We work with vendors who assist in operating the Platform (such as cloud hosting, analytics, and email delivery). These vendors are contractually obligated to protect your information and may not use it for their own purposes.
- Microsoft Clarity: We use Microsoft Clarity for product analytics and session replay. Data collected through Clarity is processed by Microsoft under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- Meta Platforms: We use the Meta Pixel to measure the performance of our advertising on Facebook and Instagram. It reports the pages you visit on our site, and whether you completed an application or sign-up, to Meta Platforms, Inc. under the Meta Privacy Policy. See our Cookie Policy for details.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights or safety of Chivle, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
5. Cookies

6. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as necessary for legal, tax, and business purposes. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting info@chivle.com. Some information may be retained longer as required by law.
7. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's Privacy
The Platform is not intended for users under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.
9. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your personal information

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by a prominent notice on the Platform prior to the changes taking effect. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
